Meet Darryl M. Myers – Author, Grandfather, and Advocate for Equality
Darryl M. Myers is not just a children’s author; he’s a proud grandfather, a retired Senior Non[1]commissioned Officer from the U.S. Army, and a native of Washington, DC. who believes deeply in the values of equality, kindness, and respect. Darryl’s journey toward creating The Lollipop Trailblazers began with his desire to impart valuable lessons to his own grandchildren – lessons that could guide them in a world where diversity and inclusivity are becoming ever more important.

Having served in diverse environments, Darryl knows the power of unity and the beauty of acceptance firsthand. When he watched his grandchildren grow up in a society filled with individuals from different backgrounds, it struck him how valuable it would be for them to learn about the power of embracing these differences. He crafted The Lollipop Trailblazers to communicate this essential message to children everywhere.
Through vibrant storytelling and engaging illustrations, Darryl’s book encourages young readers to value each person’s uniqueness. With the symbolic lollipops in various colors and flavors, The Lollipop Trailblazers teaches children that every person, regardless of their color, size, or origin, brings something valuable to the world. Darryl hopes to see his book become a conversation starter in homes and classrooms across the country.
Darryl currently resides in the midwest, where he enjoys time with family and exploring creative ways to advocate for equality and respect
